Hasina’s Defeat in the Game of Speed and Intensity
08/21/2024
The Gen Z generation, known for their love of video games, understand the importance of speed and intensity to win. For the past 15 years, Hasina has played by her own rules, but this time, she’s up against Gen Z, who set the pace and terms. Unable to keep up with the rapidly changing levels and escalating pressure, Hasina struggled to adapt.
She mistakenly believed that delaying a hearing by a month would weaken the movement and allow her to play her usual games. Instead, the students intensified their demands and set new conditions. While Hasina was still navigating “Level One” of the protest, focused on “Quota Reform,” the students had already moved on to “Level Two,” demanding “Nine Terms,” and ramped up their efforts.
When Hasina failed to properly address “Level Two,” the students escalated to “Level Three,” calling for her resignation. They even accelerated their plans, shifting their march to Dhaka from August 6th to August 5th. Importantly, Gen Z believes that rebels will prevail—they are patriotic, sensitive, hate cruelty, and are unafraid of death, making them an unmatched force.
